Alternatives and equivalents

Lenze servo drive and motor alternatives

Request Lenze original-part sourcing or assess a different servo package. Check the controller, motor, feedback, mechanics and commissioning scope.

Pricing and availability

Send your current part number for a checked alternative

Need Lenze parts, a replacement or a suitable alternative? Send us a part number, or tell us what the machine needs to do. Our UK engineers will come back with the right product, pricing, lead time and delivery, whether that is the original part, a checked alternative or a complete axis.

Specify what you need instead of Lenze

Select every part you need and answer the questions an applications engineer would ask. Our engineers use your specification to come back with the right products, pricing and lead times. You see your summary before we ask for any details.

In short:Start with the exact Lenze configuration and the machine requirements. Original sourcing and a change to another system need different technical and commercial checks.

Identify the function as well as the code

A Lenze axis may perform a simple speed function or be part of a coordinated machine. The replacement discussion needs the drive code, motor and feedback details, controller and software environment. Record any application functions held in the drive so they are not overlooked when comparing hardware.

Our catalogue includes i950 and i700 cabinet servo ranges and m850 motors. Those names identify product families, not interchangeable configurations. Capture the complete installed options and preserve a parameter backup where the responsible machine engineer can do so safely.

Decide what must remain unchanged

Fixed itemEffect on the shortlist
Existing motorFeedback, winding and commutation must suit a proposed drive
Existing controllerNetwork implementation and required motion functions need checking
Existing mechanicsFlange, shaft, adapter, inertia and load duty remain constraints
Existing softwareParameter migration, programming and commissioning effort matter

An axis that only needs speed control should not be specified as though it necessarily needs coordinated positioning. Conversely, a drive that accepts the network may still lack an application function used by the machine.

Allow for integration and operating duty

Include braking and holding arrangements, supply voltage, cabinet space and cooling. State the actual move or load cycle if another motor-drive combination is acceptable. Continuous torque and peak duration should be checked at the relevant speeds rather than inferred from a kW label.

For repeat machines, ask whether the objective is an urgent spare, a current design revision or long-term standardisation. These objectives can justify different trade-offs between original sourcing, component cost and redesign effort. Exact supply condition and warranty terms should be confirmed for any sourcing offer.

Send a useful Lenze replacement enquiry

Provide nameplate photographs, full codes, quantities, deadline and which machine interfaces must remain. We can investigate original-part sourcing or discuss supply-network packages, with Motion Control Products options where suitable. The complete-axis service explains how to compare the scope of a wider package. A published-figure comparison is a starting point for engineering review, not an approved Lenze cross-reference.

Lenze replacement and alternative options from our supply network

Each row compares the highest published figures for the series. A match here is a starting point: an engineer confirms the fit for your load, duty, mounting and interface before recommending anything.

Frequently asked questions

Can you source the original Lenze part?

Send the full model code, quantity and required date. We can investigate the sourcing route and confirm availability, supply condition and terms for the exact item.

Is a listed alternative a guaranteed equivalent?

No. Published series figures identify candidates for review. Exact model, installation, feedback, controller, firmware and mechanical fit must be checked before recommending a replacement.

Engineer support

Send us the part number you want to replace

Tell us the Lenze model code and how it is used: load, speed, duty and environment. An experienced engineer will confirm the closest equivalent, normally within one working day.
