Who Weintek is

Weintek Labs., Inc. is a Taiwanese manufacturer of human machine interfaces (HMIs), based in New Taipei City. Engineers often meet Weintek panels on machines built around third-party PLCs, servo drives and inverters, because the company concentrates on the operator interface and its EasyBuilder Pro software connects it to many control platforms.

Alongside the touch panels, Weintek makes headless HMI servers, iR remote I/O modules (including motion control modules), G Series protocol gateways and Weincloud, a cloud service for remote access and dashboards. In September 2026 it launched a new design tool, EasyBuilder X.

History and ownership

Weintek’s About page sets out a steady expansion from a small Taipei company:

  • 1995: Weintek is founded on Linyi Street.
  • 1996: it launches its first HMI and signs its first distributor, in the Netherlands.
  • 1999: the MT500 series is launched and exports begin to the US, UK, Canada, Hong Kong and Beijing.
  • 2000: the company moves to Zhonghe District and adds France, Malaysia and Shenzhen.
  • 2004: exports extend to India, Chile, the Czech Republic, Egypt and Australia.
  • 2007: the MT8000i series and EasyBuilder 8000 software arrive, and KEV is set up in Korea.
  • 2013: the Tucheng plant opens, and the cMT-SVR headless HMI and EasyBuilder Pro are launched.
  • 2017: Weintek USA is established.
  • 2020: the cMT X series introduces a quad-core CPU.
  • 2021: the new Zhonghe headquarters opens and Weincloud services start.

The company trades as Weintek Labs., Inc., and its website does not name a parent group.

HMI portfolio

Weintek HMIs sit in our motion controllers family as the operator interface for PLC, drive and motion systems. Our series pages summarise the published figures.

cMT X Advanced

The cMT X Advanced range runs from 7 to 21.5 inches, with 1,920 × 1,080 resolution on the 15.6 and 21.5 inch models, a quad-core CPU, IP66 / NEMA 4 fronts and dual Ethernet. The 15.6 inch cMT3162X is rated 0 to 50 °C and has gigabit Ethernet on one port and CAN bus. Weintek’s launch note for the 7 inch cMT3072XH3 lists OPC UA server, MQTT connections to AWS IoT and Azure IoT Hub, and CODESYS activation, which lets the panel run a soft PLC alongside the HMI.

cMT X Standard

The cMT X Standard range covers 4.3 to 15.6 inches. The 7 inch cMT2078X is typical: quad-core CPU with 3D processor, 4 GB flash, IP66 / NEMA 4 front, 0 to 55 °C, 24 V DC supply and two Ethernet ports, with CODESYS available as an option.

Entry-level and headless HMIs

  • The iP Series MT8000iP panels are slim, low-cost HMIs in 4.3, 7 and 10.1 inch sizes, with RS-485 ports that support Siemens MPI.
  • The cMT X Headless units have no screen of their own. The cMT-SVRX is a DIN-rail HMI server viewed from tablets or PCs through cMT Viewer, and the cMT-FHDX-820 drives an external monitor at up to 1,920 × 1,080.

Weintek also offers cMT X Basic, Web Panel and Handheld ranges.

Choosing between the ranges

On published figures, the iP Series covers simple machines on a tight budget, cMT X Standard is the general-purpose choice with quad-core performance and two Ethernet ports, and cMT X Advanced adds larger and higher-resolution screens, CAN bus and gigabit Ethernet on some models, and features for plant-level data such as OPC UA and MQTT. Headless units suit machines where operators use tablets or a large external monitor instead of a fixed panel.

Technologies and standards

Weintek’s product pages and datasheets show CE marking and cULus listing for the panels, NEMA 4 / IP66 fronts and, on the cMT2078X, UL Type 4X for indoor use. In April 2026 Weintek announced EN 18031-1 certification for its HMIs, the European standard for cyber security of internet-connected radio equipment. The headless and viewer models show how far the cMT range separates the HMI runtime from the screen: the same project can be shown on a panel, a tablet or an external monitor.

Industries served

Weintek lists energy management, electrical, green energy, smart buildings, smart logistics, smart manufacturing and smart equipment among its application areas. Its MPI, CANopen and RS-485 options and optional CODESYS are aimed at machine builders who pair the HMI with PLCs and drives from other makers.

Global and UK presence

Weintek’s contact page lists only the New Taipei headquarters and manufacturing centre and Weintek USA in Kenmore, Washington. The company has exported to the UK since 1999 and sells through distribution partners, which its partner finder lists. There is no Weintek-owned UK office.

What to send when specifying a Weintek HMI

Give the screen size, the PLCs, drives or controllers it must connect to (make, model, protocol and port), whether you need CODESYS, OPC UA or MQTT, the number of Ethernet and serial ports, front rating, temperature range, supply voltage and any approvals. If you are migrating from an MT8000i or older cMT model, include the part number and EasyBuilder project version.

Specify Motion is independent of Weintek. Our engineers can help source Weintek HMIs or propose equivalents; see find a replacement or the motion controllers hub.
