What a stainless planetary gearbox is
A stainless planetary gearbox is a planetary servo gearbox with a stainless steel housing, output shaft and fasteners, sealed for washdown and corrosive environments. Inside, the sun, planet and ring gear arrangement is the same as a standard planetary, but the seals, surface finish and lubricant are chosen for hygiene and cleaning. Food-grade lubricants are commonly used. Many designs also offer inline and right-angle versions to match stainless servo motors on hygienic machines.

Choose a stainless planetary when the gearbox will be exposed to washdown, cleaning chemicals or corrosion, such as food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical machines.
